How to read this

  • One to fifty servers, no dedicated monitoring engineer - us, Checkmk or Netdata.
  • Hundreds of hosts, network gear, SNMP and IPMI - Zabbix or Checkmk.
  • Instrumenting applications, not just hosts - Datadog or New Relic, or Prometheus if you would rather own it.
  • Only need to know whether a URL is up - UptimeRobot or Better Stack; you do not need an agent at all.
