How to read this
- One to fifty servers, no dedicated monitoring engineer - us, Checkmk or Netdata.
- Hundreds of hosts, network gear, SNMP and IPMI - Zabbix or Checkmk.
- Instrumenting applications, not just hosts - Datadog or New Relic, or Prometheus if you would rather own it.
- Only need to know whether a URL is up - UptimeRobot or Better Stack; you do not need an agent at all.
- Servers Sentinel vs ZabbixZabbix is more capable and much heavier. A comparison of setup cost, agent weight, alerting model and where each one is the right choice.
- Servers Sentinel vs DatadogDatadog is an observability platform; we monitor servers. A comparison of scope, pricing model and the cost of the bill you cannot predict.
- Servers Sentinel vs NetdataNetdata gives extraordinary per-second resolution on one host. We give one pane of glass, durable history and routed alerts across a fleet.
